Simon Pegg, noted comedian, actor, and hilariously well-rounded person in general, got his start from British TV show “Spaced”. Below is a clip from the show’s amazingĀ gunfight scenes. Without guns, of course.
The best part about this slow motion clip is that it uses both real and acted slow motion, seamlessly combining the two. Their fighting actions change as if through quicksand, but other actions within the frame let you know it’s all on the actors’ shoulders. Using very realistic sound effects, it isn’t hard to trackĀ the invisible bullets hitting their target.
In the second clip, where the characters find themselves in a dark alley, we see a lot more in camera slow motion. Both ways, they’re amazing. The show in general is just insanely well done, with a high production value despite the miniscule budget. Real slow motion or not, we get the same reaction: “Shit goddamn.”
