You know you’ve got a good thing goin’ when you can make humans look like veritable anime characters:
Thank You For Smoking
This is a tiny, super-itsy bitsy clip, but it’s what makes me want to watch the movie over and over. In fact, I love the first ten minutes of “Thank You For Smoking”- probably more than the rest of whatever plot or characterization comes along afterwards. Come 4:19, when slomo is used as a device to imply BS’ing at its best, I just replay it over and over.
Architecture in Helsinki – Hold Music
Oh shit, sorry guys! Didn’t mean to hoard all of the good videos to myself here! Not to mention a band that seems to be made up of incredibly attractive Australians:
Mstrkrft feat. John Legend – Heartbreaker
Fuck, I can’t stop watching this video:
Bat For Lashes- What’s a Girl to Do?
Wait until 2:22! Just wait for it! I promise you it is worth it. And the ride there ain’t half bad, either.
This makes me love the video’s director, Dougal Wilson. Not in an admiring kind of way. More of a “please-marry-me, you-clearly-are-a-meticulous-human-being” kind of way. Thanks for the great video, Dougal. (Really, I just like saying his name)
Basement Jaxx – Take Me Back To Your House
I remember the first time I watched this video. I was digging the fur coats and funny hats, loving the lighting and starting to feel one of the best feelings in the world: starting a video that you know is going to be kick ass.
At 2:55 I began to get goosebumps all over, my pupils dilating in what I now know to be a visual addiction which this website has futilely tried to quench. After all, whether in short or long bursts, slow motion always hooks you:
Zion I- Geek To The Beat
Ok, so this film isn’t ENTIRELY in slow motion, but it’s just so good I can’t resist posting it:

Fall Out Boy – Dance Dance
Don’t playa hate. Celebrate!
Check 3:00min in for one of the best edited slow motion sequences I have seen. Sure, the band may be shitty, but at least they can hire capable people to handle the real art. Plus, I just love pop and lock dancing!
The Cheapest, Best Commercial Idea Ever
Dear Schweppes: Good job. Slow motion is mega cheap. All the budget just goes to the camera, and then things as simple as dropping a water balloon look INCREDIBLE. Paired with shitty, emotional music and you’ve got yourself a winning campaign. Observe:
